is in the south west of Great Barrier Island. It is a small rocky bay, showcasing amazing sunsets in the summer. I walked into the bay the other day to do exactly that. Enjoy and photograph a red sunset. The sea was calm, there was no one around and it turned out to be a top evening. After arriving in Schooner Bay, Rani and I walked to the right, and we tried to go as far as possible, but the tide was coming in and we didn’t manage to get far. For the moment, I am sharing one photo. That’s because I haven’t had the time to process the other raw images. It’s been a busy month, or was it months? I don’t know. The days are long, the weather is mild, warm, summer is on its way. So, it’s that time of the year where it pays to go hiking each afternoon and early morning.
Things Are Going Well
The phone is ringing more than usual, people want photos taken. Of their beautiful properties, family gatherings, themselves. So between the photography and the teaching jobs that I have, it’s been busy. But busy is good, especially at this time of the year. I’m looking forward to the school holidays. Oodles of photos to process, this website needs updating and I’m keen to start with my personal photography projects. For now, enjoy this photo. It is a long-exposure shot. It works well, although I’m breaking the “horizon rule”. You can see Channel Island in the horizon, the small island which is also known as The Watchman.
